Chain Hoists according to BGV-B8, BGV-D8 Plus, BGV-C1
Electric Chain Hoists (BGV-D8)
The thousands of chain hoists sold all around the world, the hundreds of wellknown users and the huge number of stages they’ve been used on are proof that ChainMaster chain hoists are at the top in the tough world of stage technology.
The carefully designed aluminium housing means our chain hoists are both compact and robust, fulfilling every demand. The combined chain guide and chain guide plate are unique and ensure smooth chain payout.
Thanks to the wide range of additional products available (see page 34), the basic ChainMaster models can be adapted for use in any situation.

Electric Chain Hoists (BGV-D8 Plus und BGV-C1)
Increased safety, flexibility and efficient rigging for complex loads are the main features of BGV-D8+ chain hoists.
Chain- Master first presented the concept to the Berufsgenossenschaft (institution for statutory accident insurance and prevention in the event industry) many years ago, and in 2004 a working group run by VPLT, the association of event technology companies, published the industry code of practice SR20 based on our innovation.
The incorporation of a second brake and BGV-C-standard safety features into BGV-D8 chain hoists resulted in a product that does without load additional securing. Sales show that the market clearly approves the concept, not just in Germany but all over the world.

Vario-Lift
The VarioLift, which was 18 months in the development and testing prior to its introduction in 1998, has turned out to be a world-wide success.
It would be difficult to name another item of stage equipment that celebrated events and stage designers have taken to with quite the same enthusiasm and made an essential component of their creative work. The VarioLift offers maximum precision and reproducibility when positioning the hoist.
At the heart of the system sits an integrated, vector-controlled frequency converter supplied by a high-impulse incremental encoder. The upshot is a degree of positional accuracy that seems scarcely believable: 0.2 millimetres!
The VarioLift product range includes models for loads ranging from 125 kg to 6300 kg conforming to the BGV-C1 standard. A model is available, then, for applications as diverse as scenery movement at 42 m/min to the lifting of heavy loads.
Vario-Trolley
Nowadays sets and show decorations often feature moving elements. In the positioning of these loads (which often weigh tons!), the highest degree of precision and absolute safety are called for.
It is in just such situations that the VarioTrolley from ChainMaster comes into its own. The VarioTrolley had its baptism of fire in 2001 at the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, when 24 of the trolleys combined with a ChainMaster BGV-C1 chain-hoist and a ChainMaster as failsafe controller in a display of kinetic virtuosity witnessed by tens of millions across the continent.
The system was used to manoeuvre eight semi-circular truss structures horizontally and vertically over the stage and formed the centrepiece of the set design.
Jumbo-Lift
Video cubes and other heavy loads are the main application areas for Jumbo- Lifts. Depending on the load type and safety requirements, a variety of systems is available, ranging from simple contactor control through to systems with variable speeds and secure control according to IEC-61508 / SIL3.
Additional fall-back systems guarantee operability in any event. Horizontal tracking systems are also feasible thanks to trolleys with contactor control or VarioTrolleys with positioning control. Data transfer via microwave instead of cable means that we can stage your project to the very highest technical standards.
